Albuquerque International Sunport is effectively a smoke-free terminal indoors. All smoking is restricted to designated outdoor areas outside the terminal buildings, and you must be at least 50 feet from any entrance or building. There are no indoor smoking rooms or lounges anywhere inside the terminal, airside or landside.
Before Security
Your only option is to step outside before you check in or after you collect your bags. The designated spots are open-air areas on the exterior of the terminal, positioned at least 50 feet from any door. Look for marked zones near the terminal entrances and the baggage claim level exits.
Outdoor designated smoking zones are located outside the terminal building on the landside (public) side.

After Security
There are no smoking facilities airside at ABQ. Once you pass through the security checkpoint, you cannot smoke anywhere in the concourses. The airport does permit this re-entry, but factor in TSA wait times before deciding.
Transit and Connecting Flights
If you are connecting through ABQ on an international itinerary, note that you will need to enter the United States, clear customs and immigration, then exit the terminal to smoke before re-checking your bags and going back through security. This is a significant time commitment, so only attempt it if your layover is long enough.
Vaping Rules
The sources available do not explicitly address e-cigarettes or vaping devices separately. Given that all smoking is banned indoors and restricted to outdoor zones at least 50 feet from the building, it is safest to treat vaping the same way and only use it in the outdoor designated areas.
