In the international departures area, specific gate zones also feature smoking spots. For instance, Momenti Peroni, located near gates 7-11, offers a smoking area, though a July 2024 update noted it was in a "very bad state, completely filthy" and technically reserved for patrons. Another excellent option for business class travelers is the "nice smoking lounge" within the Tarom business lounge. Additionally, domestic departures have a smoking area at Expressamente, and Burger King near gates 24-29 also provides a facility. Recent feedback indicates that while the availability of smoking areas is high, the condition of some facilities can vary. The Momenti Peroni area, for example, was reported to be quite unkempt. However, the general sentiment from travelers, as far back as 2016, praises OTP for its sensible and comfortable enclosed smoking places, often associated with bars but not strictly requiring a purchase. This commitment to providing smoking facilities makes OTP a standout airport for smokers. Travelers should always look for clear signage and be aware that some areas might be undergoing renovations or might be less maintained than others.
