After Security
This is where Hannover is more convenient than many German airports. Smoking cabins are available airside, in both the arrivals and departures areas across Terminals A, B, and C. The airport's own FAQ states: "Within the airside terminal, you can find smoking cabins." A traveller report from November 2016 also confirmed their presence. The cabins are enclosed, ventilated smoking rooms past the security checkpoint.

Paid Lounges Airside
If you want a more comfortable airside experience, two pay-per-use lounges operate at HAJ:
Karl Jatho Lounge (Terminal A, Level 1, directly after security): open 05:00-21:00, walk-in price 36 EUR per person. Also accessible via prepaid lounge passes, Priority Pass, and similar membership programs.
Melli-Beese Lounge (Terminal C, opposite Gate 19): open 08:00-19:00, walk-in price 36 EUR per person. Same access options as above.
Lufthansa Business Lounge and Lufthansa Senator Lounge (both Terminal A, Level 2, near Gate A2): open 05:00-20:30/21:00, complimentary for eligible Business Class and Star Alliance Gold passengers.

Vaping Rules
