Podgorica Airport (TGD) is a small, single-terminal airport with a straightforward but inconvenient smoking situation: there are no smoking facilities inside the terminal building, either before or after security. All smoking must happen outside, in designated areas around the terminal exterior.

Before Security

Before you pass through security, your only option is to step outside the terminal building and use the designated outdoor smoking areas near the entrance and exit doors. The airport is compact, so finding the exterior is not difficult, but you will need to allow extra time before heading through security checks.

After Security

This is where things get tricky. As of a May 2024 traveler update, there are no smoking facilities inside the airside area. If you need to smoke after clearing security, you have no option within the terminal. There are no smoking rooms, no designated airside zones, and no paid lounges with smoking terraces reported at TGD.

Transit and Connecting Flights

If you are connecting through Podgorica and need to smoke between flights, the situation is genuinely inconvenient. You will need to exit the secure area, pass through passport control into Montenegro, smoke outside the terminal, and then go back through security again for your onward flight. Factor in significant extra time if you plan to do this, as re-clearing security at a small airport can still take 20-30 minutes depending on queues.

Vaping Rules

No specific vaping policy for TGD has been reported in available sources. Given the general ban on smoking inside the terminal, it is safest to treat vaping the same as smoking and only use it outside the building.
