Quad Cities International Airport (MLI)

Quad Cities International Airport (MLI) has a complete smoking ban throughout the entire terminal building, including both landside and airside areas. There are no designated smoking rooms, smoking lounges, or outdoor smoking zones anywhere on or immediately adjacent to the terminal. If you need to smoke, you must leave the terminal entirely and find a spot well away from the building.

Before Security

There are no designated smoking areas landside or near the terminal entrance. The airport does not provide any outdoor smoking zones at the curb, in the parking structure, or near the terminal doors. Smokers must leave the airport property entirely to smoke before their flight.

After Security

There are no smoking facilities airside at MLI. Once you pass through the TSA checkpoint, there is no way to smoke and re-enter security without going through the full screening process again. There are no paid lounges with smoking rooms, no enclosed smoking cabins, and no outdoor terraces past the checkpoint.

Transit and Connecting Flights

If you are connecting through MLI on an international itinerary, you will need to clear U.S. customs and immigration, exit the terminal to smoke outside the building, and then re-enter and go through TSA security again before your onward flight. Factor in significant extra time if this applies to your itinerary.

Vaping

Vaping and e-cigarettes follow the same rules as traditional cigarettes at MLI. Vaping is not permitted anywhere inside the terminal or in any designated area near the building. Illinois state law and airport policy both restrict indoor vaping.
