Smoking in non-designated areas inside or outside the terminal may result in fines under Italian law. Vaping and e-cigarettes are subject to the same indoor ban as tobacco. Connecting passengers who exit to smoke must clear security again, which takes extra time.
TSF is a compact, single-terminal airport where all smoking inside the building is banned, including after security. Italy's national law prohibits smoking in all enclosed public spaces, and Treviso enforces this strictly. If you need to smoke after clearing security, you will have to exit the terminal, smoke outside, and go through security screening again.
Before Security
Smoking is permitted outside the terminal building in designated areas. According to a traveler report from March 2018, there are smoking spots right in front of the entrance and exit doors, and in practice you can smoke anywhere in the open-air areas immediately outside. These spots are landside and accessible to anyone before check-in or after arriving.

After Security
There are no smoking facilities airside. Once you have passed through security, there is nowhere to smoke inside the terminal. No smoking lounges, smoking rooms, or paid lounges with smoking access have been reported at TSF.
If you are on a connecting flight and need to smoke, you must leave the secure zone, re-enter Italy (immigration if applicable), smoke outside the terminal, and then go back through the full security process before your onward flight. Factor in extra time if you plan to do this, as TSF is a small airport but security queues can build up during peak Ryanair and Wizz Air departure banks.
Vaping Rules
Electronic cigarettes and vaping devices fall under the same ban as tobacco in Italian airports. Vaping is not permitted inside the terminal building. Use the same outdoor designated areas as for cigarettes.
Transit and Layovers
TSF does not operate as a major transit hub, but if you do have a layover here, the exit-and-reenter option is your only airside smoking solution. Given that the terminal is small and security is generally quick, this is feasible if your connection time allows at least 30-40 minutes of buffer.
