Arriving passengers must collect their luggage and exit the building completely before lighting up. No smoking is permitted in the arrivals hall or baggage reclaim area.
After Security

Stair tower cabin: A smoking room is reportedly located in a stair tower facing the platform.
King Amlet Lounge connection: A smoking room is also available in connection with the King Amlet Lounge. Access to this specific room may require lounge entry; check with the lounge directly for current walk-in pricing.
The cabins have been in place since August 2007, when Danish legislation required designated smoking solutions. Billund specifically chose transparent glass cabins with wooden interiors, positioned in main seating areas, to avoid the cramped and unpleasant feel of traditional smoking rooms. The airport's own statement notes the cabins are open at all hours, year-round.
Vaping Rules
Electronic cigarettes are treated exactly the same as regular cigarettes. The airport's official policy states vaping is not permitted inside the building. This means e-cigarettes and vapes are restricted to the same smoke cabins airside, or outside the building landside.
Transit and Layovers
If you are transiting through Billund and have already cleared security, you can use the airside smoke cabins without needing to exit. Given that re-entry after going outside is not possible once you are airside, the cabins are your only option during a layover.

Billund handles smokers better than a flat ban would suggest: the glass smoke cabins in the departure lounge are a genuine, well-placed solution. Use the outdoor area before security, and head toward WHSmith or gates 8-10 once you are airside.
